Patricia Woltmann is a choreographer, dancer and performance artist working at the intersection of dance, performance, video and somatic practices. Her participatory works explore fragile relationships between bodies, landscapes and social structures, addressing themes such as perception, ecology and collective behavior. With an affinity for sculptural approaches to the body, her practice investigates how movement can shape and be shaped by space.

In her performances, Patty creates space for collective, embodied experiences, investigating the transformative potential of the body – presence, absence and memory. Her work has been presented nationally and internationally, including at Museo del Chopo in Mexico City, KW Institute of Contemporary Art in Berlin and across England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Sweden, Czech Republic, and Brazil. In 2025, during her residency at AADK in Spain (funded by Culture Moves Europe and the Goethe-Institut), she created the video installation Precarious Terrains, which was presented at Hosek Contemporary Gallery, Berlin. The work explores the fragile entanglement of body, landscape and the accelerating impacts of climate change. In 2022, Patricia was a recipient of the Solo-Dis-Tanz Stipend by BKM and Neustart Kultur and was artist-in-residence at AADK Spain, where she researched and presented work on the themes of touch, presence, and absence (closer, for record). In 2020, she produced two films: untitled, commissioned by Bode-Museum Berlin, and dislocated angle, developed during her residency with Kinitiras/Athens and Goethe Institut Athens. Her group work To: my future body (2019) was presented at KW Institute of Contemporary Art, Berlin. Under the collective patty&britty, Patty developed together with dance artist Britta Pudelko the video and performance series “molecules”.

Patricia teaches in museum, artistic and academic contexts, connecting choreographic practice with experimental forms of knowledge transmission. She has taught at UdK Berlin, London Metropolitan University, Trinity Laban (London), Middlesex University (London) and Duncan Centre Prague. From 2017 – 2020, she was an artistic collaborator at lab.Bode, Bode-Museum Berlin. Patricia holds an M.A. in Dance Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma from Trinity Laban, London, and previously studied contemporary dance at Erika Klütz School, Hamburg.
