(dis)appear
Las Salinas/AADKSpain
14th February 2024A site-specific performance
Set within the haunting landscape of Salinas del Curro, (dis)appear is a site-specific performance exploring the poetics of visibility, vulnerability, and transformation. An old bathtub, found abandoned in the salt flats, became the stage and container for this work—a sculptural vessel repurposed into a nest, a temporary shelter woven from found grasses and natural materials.
Through subtle gestures of hiding and revealing, of nesting and emerging, the body negotiates its presence within the harshness and fragility of the environment. The work invites reflection on cycles of exposure and retreat, on the desire to be seen and the need to disappear. Between salt, wind, and silence, (dis)appear becomes a meditation on place, protection, and the ephemeral traces we leave behind.
