To Grasp – to Fetch – to Catch – to Grab

UdK, Berlin

2024

How do collective bodies negotiate autonomy and relationality?
How can assembled bodies shift the dynamics of a given space or situation?
In this workshop, somatic practices served as a foundation to explore interconnectivity within collective bodies. Patricia guided the students in investigating the body as a site of presence and absence—mutable, shifting, and deeply relational.
The participants attuned to the ways in which presence emerges not as a fixed state, but as a fleeting quality that enters into dialogue with architectural, social, and atmospheric conditions. The body became a responsive medium through which presence was not only experienced, but also questioned, shared, and reshaped.

This workshop took place in April and May 20204. As a result the participative performance “body sculptures – sculpture bodies” was presented at UdK Rundgang in July 2024.
